How to organize a fundraising event
We all have heard about global problems and the necessary amount of funds that will help to influence the situation. Do your part and host a fundraising event! You need to choose a charity, think about fundraising ideas and choose a location, and create a guest list.

Choose a charity initiative. What situation do you think needs help the most? When in doubt, discuss the issue with friends and family.
Visit local religious organizations, homeless shelters, veterans’ councils, schools and libraries. They are the ones who most often need help and will provide you with the opportunity to help the local community.

Determine the purpose of the fundraiser. It is useful to have an idea of how much money you need to raise. In many cases, participants will behave more willingly if they see a clear goal.

Define your target audience. What kind of people will attend your event? Your relatives? Friends? Staff? Classmates with their parents? The type of event should take into account the interests of the guests.
For example, if you want to raise funds for a school group, you could organize a carnival or bake sale.
Inappropriate types of activities should also be considered. For example, you shouldn’t host a wine tasting if you want to raise funds for a conservative church.

Define the essence of the event. In this aspect, you are only limited by your imagination. You can always hold a traditional event like a silent auction or dinner, or go the other way and organize a race, a water battle or collect donations in unusual outfits. Be original!
Make sure your event will “give emotions.” This means that fundraising should bring joy to the participants. For example, include guest speakers, a group, after-dinner entertainment.
You can also offer services like a car wash, or hold a whimsical dance or karaoke competition.Referees will be required for games and competitions.

Determine the budget. Sometimes you have to spend money to raise money. However, in order to accurately know the result of the work, it is necessary to determine the budget for the upcoming event.
Include the cost of renting the space, furniture and services for the auction, food and drink, tickets, guest speakers or artists.
You can use the services, premises and furniture of local enterprises. Explain that you are hosting a fundraising event for a charitable cause, so companies can win the favor of the community (and new customers) if they help you organize.

Find volunteers who share your aspirations. The e-mail service will help you contact a large number of people at the same time and find volunteers.
Use the available lists of volunteers to find people with experience running similar events. It is not necessary to look for organizers, but any experience will be useful. Especially if you don’t have that kind of experience!

Open a bank account. This is especially handy when organizing an event to help individuals or families. In many countries, it is necessary to open a bank account in order to collect donations for a good cause. Name an account to settle tax issues. For example, if you are raising funds for the treatment of a child (for example, Katya Ivanova), name the account “Fundraising for Katya Ivanova.”

Find a room. Large closed events can be held in a church, school, factory floor, restaurant, or fraternal organization premises. Find out where such events are held, and then contact such places. You may be able to provide a venue as an aid to the event. You can also use contact lists to ask about suitable places.
